Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has denied reports he has decided to leave the club at the end of the season, a year before the end of his current contract.

Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid has been the subject of speculation throughout the season and was resurfaced after the 5-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final on January 12.

The issue prompted Ancelotti to make a statement during his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Red Bull Salzburg.

“No, I want to be very clear here. I have not set a date for my resignation, and it will not happen.”

“Someday it will happen, but I don’t know when. I don’t make a decision on that. It could be tomorrow, it could be a couple of games, it could be a year, it could be five years.”

“Florentino (Perez, the club president) will be here for another four years and my goal is to work together for another four years so that we can leave the club together,” Ancelotti said.
